WHEN Martin Luther King, Jr. announced, "I have a dream," he had nothing on Pisces. People of this sign have so many dreams, fantasies, visions, and imaginary friends, it's amazing they don't get lost in their own heads more often.

Ruled by Neptune, the watery planet of illusions, Pisces often have difficulty distinguishing between the real and the imagined. They are amazingly intuitive, even psychic, and can receive feelings so strongly that they interpret the world through their emotions. This makes them innately creative and inclined toward the arts; even the more left-brained or conservative Pisces may have natural inclinations as writers, poets, artists, musicians, filmmakers, or art appreciators. Because their intuition makes them naturally simpatico with the underdog, Pisces also like to teach, or use their creativity to help others.

On a good day, Pisces are sensitive and perceptive--great for assessing the heart of complex problems and devising solutions. They are also romantic and caring, and make great parents (though not always the most loyal spouses with all those fantasies they need to fulfill). On a bad day, Pisces, like their symbolic fish, swim to the bottom of their personal oceans and brood in the murky depths. It's their own brand of therapy. Because they internalize the emotions of everyone around them, sometimes they just can't take all the vibes they pick up and need to "detox" from all the self-inflicted turmoil. Then, true to their own illusory natures, they magically disppear to do so.

Pisces tend to be quite hard on themselves, even masochistic at times. And oh, can they lay on the guilt trips (ever consider opening a travel agency?). They are susceptible to depression, and must watch for a tendency to drown out feelings with alcohol, drugs, escapist behavior, and acting out deviant fantasies.

What brings these gloomy fish back above sea level? Surrounding themselves by friends who are as introspective as they are, but who take a more optimistic, logical, or positive approach to life. Members of this spiritual sign also need to feel their lives have a higher purpose. Helping someone in need, caring for the less fortunate, or changing the world through the arts all give Pisces an outlet for their incredible sensitivity and gifts.
